My Christmas Vacation!

My first Christmas away from Cincinnati was one to remember! If you didn't already know, I got married June 27, 2008, and the one thing we really had to strategically plan was our Christmas Vacations! So this year we headed to South Bend, IN on Tuesday afternoon. Usually takes 4.5 hours, but our adventure lasted 8. Cars were all over the roads, after freezing rain dropped on the MIDWEST! Christmas Day, we left for Hinsdale, Illinois (Indian Hill of Chicago) for another Christmas. We left Yesterday at 1:30 and it took us another 7 hours because of ICEY roads! After all the travel, I was excited to get back home to MY CHRISTMAS Presents to myself...

Hope your guys Christmas was as good as MINE!
Now I get to spend Christmas with my FAM this weekend.

Recession....WHAT?

The New York Yankees are back to being the NEW YORK YANKEES. After missing the postseason for the first time in 14 years, the Bronx Bombers are spending money like there is NO tomorrow! Eventhough the country is going through a financial crisis right now, the Yankees dropped $161 million over 7 years for C.C. Sabathia and $82.5 million over 5 years to A.J. Burnett.

And they aren't done yet. The New York post is reporting that the team is pursuing Mark Texiera pretty hard now too. Expected to sign around $160 million, the slugger could be to much for the rich Yankees. But Manny Ramirez is also said to be "plan B" if they can't ink the first basemen.

I can remember being the only White kid with the new Jordan's at Finneytown. I wasn't rocking them for a fashion statement, but more importantly, loved the man.....MJ..#23! Precisely, I can remember being on my 8th grade school trip in Washington D.C. anticipating the return to our hotel room from a long day visiting the Lincoln and Washington monuments. The only thing on my mind was the Bred Jordan XI "patent leather," in a size 8. Finally made it back to the room, only to hear my Mom tell me this was the last pair they would get me!

To make a long story short, my Dad went to pick them up at Northgate Finish Line. After waiting in line for 45 minutes, he finally made it to the front, when the cashier was handing out the last 8 to a guy behind him, my Dad became heated (for those of you that know my Dad....Well you could only imagine!) exchanged a few words with him. Needless to say, he left the mall without my Kicks.

At the time, my Mom was working in Swifton, so my Dad called her and she ran over to Swifton Commons and picked me up a pair. If you are familiar with the area, you know it is not safe for a lady 4'11" walking, by herself, with a brand new pair of Jordans! But she got them...

In the end, I couldn't wait to return home from D.C. to get my J's!!!

This isn't the first story, and it won't be the last. I have owned over 1000 pair of shoes, I have sold, traded, and given many pairs away, but this PASSION will continue for the rest of my life.

I have done crazy things to obtain these HOLY GRAILS, but the search is the funnest part. Countless hours on eBay and numerous websites, along with multiple trips to New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philly, and any other store I can get to. I have met people all over the world, and can count on a handful of them to help me out in a pinch...Well..... within reason! Some shoes are so RARE, it's damn near impossible to cop them unless you are the MAN himself!

Ultimately, I have met many great friends through these experiences, used money to put down on a house, buy an engagement ring, and pay off school loans, but there are still shoes that I will never get rid of, because they have special meaning to them! I am down to about 100 pairs now, which consist of Jordan's and Air Max, but at 26, I can't wait to have my own son, and carry on this tradition!!

LeBron has done so many things to hint at a big time move come 2010 when his contract in Cleveland is up. We have seen LeBron sporting his Yankee cap at Cleveland Indian Palyoff Games, kicking it with good friend Jay-Z (oh yea, part owner of the soon-to-be Brooklyn Nets), hinting at him and C.C. Sabathia playing in New York together, and most recently, his latest sneaker drop. The "Big Apple" Zoom LeBron VI, which he wore on Tuesday night, as fans swarmed in to Madison Square Garden to see the possible future Knick!

Only time will tell, so now all we can do is wait!

Rolle Model

Myron Rolle, is Mr. Everything. The #1 Defensive Player in the country in High School. An all ACC Defender, and he has an NFL future down the road. But the question for Myron, is when?

Florida State safety Myron Rolle said he is planning to accept his Rhodes Scholarship and study in Oxford, England, starting next October and bypass his senior year of eligiblity.

Rolle, an aspiring neurosurgeon, was awarded the scholarship last weekend. He is the first Florida State football player to be so honored.

Rolle said he cannot delay the Rhodes Scholarship and is trying to decide if he will participate in the next NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis in February. He is also considering training before and after his studies at Oxford and trying out for the NFL afterward.

"I want to be a neurosurgeon," Rolle said. "And I want to help impoverished nations build up their vaccination programs. I think in many poor countries, vaccination programs and mental health programs are wrongly pushed aside."

In what could be the future home of LeBron James, #23 became the youngest player to 11,000 points, as the HOT Cavs handled the New Jersey Nets. Soon to be the Brooklyn Nets, the team owned by Friend and Hip Hop Artist-Jay-Z, LeBron has left many in question, including Cleveland fans, as to what he will do when his contract is up. LBJ is gonna get paid, but in the end, he is going to want to win a championship. No matter what, he is playing the best ball in his career and continued by pouring in 31, and the Cavs are 9-2.

Once again congrats to LeBron for being the youngest player to 11,000 points!

On the cusp of releasing 808's and Heartbreak, various sneaker sources are finally confirming the drop the Nike Air Yeezy's, which look to be be releasing in the spring of 2009. There have been mad fakes out there and rumors flying, but this looks to be the real thing...finally!!

The Air Yeezy's are Jordan III inspired, check the midsole. The Air Yeezy is highlited with glow in the dark accents which streak through the Nike Swoosh and Jordan III inspired mid-sole.

Caught Up....

It has been a while since I have kept everyone updated on a consistent basis, so I wanted to get ya'll caught up!!

First off, I am enjoying the married life more and more everyday. Ash keeps me on my toes, and doesn't let me get away with anything! I guess that is a good thing.

Work is busy, but we all know these are the greatest of times right now, and I really can't believe that we are in a "recession?!?!" I really was ALL for McCain/Palin, but now I am very curious, and optimistic that Barack Obama can get this country turned around.

The Bengals are bad, but at least we have next year to look forward to...Yea, how many times have we heard that?? No, for real. Carson Palmer has missed more than half of the year, and we look to be getting a TOP 5 pick once again.

I have continued my shoe fetish....As if that will ever end? As of right now, I have slowed down, but that is because nothing good is really coming out. Well accept for these Limited Jordan Is that released last Saturday.



The fam is good, and healthy. Friends are staying COOL, and on November 30th J Heard will be making his appearance back in the Nati. So until then, be cool, and I'll get back before the Holidays!

NBA Season Tips Off Tonight

For Once, I am really looking forward to the start of the 2008-2009 NBA season. Although football is in full swing, but the Bengals suck! The World Series has been mediocre at best......

But the current wave of young, talented NBA players has caught my attention, and I am looking forward to an entertaining season.

There are two games on TNT tonite and they are: Cleveland and Boston, then Portland and the Lake Show (my favorite to win it all)

Justin Timberlake to Host PGA Tour Stop for Shriner's

Justin Timberlake, a stand up guy, is holding his first official PGA tour event this week in Las Vegas. The scratch golfer (6 handicap), is doing this to raise money for Shriner's victims, and also, bring attention to young golfers.

Each time I hear Timberlake talk, I become a bigger fan...

The event will be held October 13-19 at the TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, with an official Pro-Am on Wednesday. The event will be televised on the Golf Channel. As part of his involvement, Timberlake, a six handicap, will play in the Wednesday Pro-Am and host a concert during the tournament week.

“Raising money to better children’s lives while playing golf? I can’t think of a better way to pass the time,” Timberlake said.

“I couldn’t be more excited,” said Timberlake. “We will make sure to make this event unique and memorable, and we will raise money for charity while participating in the greatest game every played.”

Young Guns Pound Sox to Take 3-1 Lead

The greatest story in baseball, has taken another turn in the right direction. After losing the first game of the ALCS, the Tampa Bay Rays have won three straight, including two in a row in Boston.

Last night, the Rays pounded Tim Wakefield and the rest of the Red Sox, 13-4, collecting 14 hits and putting pressure on the Red Sox staff the whole game!

Although the greatest story in baseball, the Red Sox have been in this position before. Just last year they trailed the Indians 3-1 in the ALCS, before coming back and winning the whole thing!

The Rays are a different team though...

Percy Harvin, the 2008 Heisman candidate has received many comparisons to past heisman Running Backs, such as Reggie Bush. His versatility as a runner and receiver makes him a threat every time he is on the field. Harvin had 2 TD's vs. the LSU Tigers last night, which resulted in a 51-21 thrashing, the Gators put on LSU.

MLB Playoffs

The NLCS has got under way between the LA Dodgers @ the Philadelphia Phillies...I would love to see the Dodgers advance for Joe Torre, but I would not mind seeing the Phillies go either. As long as the Rays take care of business in the ALCS, I will be ok. I hate the Red Sox, but I do respect the job that Theo Epstein and Terry Francona have done.

LT Air Force 1 Release

The latest Nike 1World Air Force 1 is set to release as San Diego Chargers back, #21 LaDainian Tomlinson comes to the forefront in this latest sneaker drop. Although the launch date is set for October 17th, 100 pairs will release a week earlier strictly in San Diego on Sunday, October 12th. 50 pairs are divided between Blends and The Attic with each retailer receiving 21 signed pairs as well as a pair of tickets to the Chargers vs. Patriots game that night (which includes pick-up service and plaza level tickets with Lightning Pavilion access). The shoes will release at 2:00 pm on October 12th.

This is a sick idea..Think the Bengals could pull this one off??

MLB Playoffs

Since me beloved New York Yankees did not make the playoffs for the first time in 14 years, I will gladly follow the games hoping the L.A. Dodgers and the Tampa Bay Rays make it to the series, with the National League finally bringing a title home. The Yankees surely missed Joe Torre this year and come playoff time, you know his exprience will pay huge dividends for the Dodgers....Including Man-Ram!
