UK Gets Their Man!

The University of Kentucky finally got their guy in John Calipari. It took longer than expected, but the Ex-Memphis coach finally accepted the 8 year $35 Million deal. He may bring some baggage as far as recruiting goes, but the slick back, outgoing coach is everything that Lexington needed. Outgoing, good sense of humor, great recruiter, great coach, and most importantly, he is a "media darling!"

Kentucky will be back in the thick of things as early as next December. This turnover, won't be like Indiana University's. This transition will be much faster. Billy G had the player's this year, but it's obvious that this stage was too big for him. Not only that, Calipari's class is sure to move with him, putting UK back on the map.

College Basketball will be much better with Lexington courting a great team, once again. When the Duke, UNC, UCLA, UK, IU, and Kansas' of the world are good, the game is much better. This is a big step for the University of Kentucky, but most importantly, the NCAA.

I am not a UK fan, although my wife is alumni, I love the hire! I did not agree with the departure of Tubby Smith, but UK has hit a Home Run with this one!!

Final Four: Nike IS Still RUNNING It....

Before the final two games of the Elite 8 started today, I could only think, and hope that Michigan State would be Louisville so that ALL of the Final Four teams, were Nike Sponsored teams.

I know I have a problem, but I have been brand loyal to Nike and Jordan Brand for nearly 2 decades now. Thousands of shoes, shirts and shorts have been in my possession since about the 3rd grade, and I am not going to change what brand KICKS I will wear for the rest of my life!

Since the early 90's, Nike has taken their brand to another level, by signing household names and teams to their label. Michigan, and the FAB 5, transformed the game and started the whole new "hip-hop" era and used Nike to promote the new fashion that is still currently seen in basketball. Long, baggy shorts, black socks, and Nike basketball kicks!

Today marked another day in Nike history, when Michigan State, and North Carolina, joined UCONN and Villanova as 4 NIKE TEAMs to earn their trip to Detroit's Ford Field, for the Final 4 next weekend.

Nike is not going anywhere, and they are only getting stronger, by day, with their visibility across the world. And believe me, all of the NikeHeads will be tuned in to see what new kicks/unis Nike will be exposing next weekend in the Motor City.

LeBron James 1 Ups Shaq

I have yet to find the video yet, but LeBron one upped Shaq in the pregame performance ledger on the same day the Cavs won their franchise best 12th straight game, and his debut on 60 Minutes. If you didn't see it, you need to check it out! He is truly amazing.

Video will be up soon...
Here wego:

He's Back!

Tiger Woods battled from 5 shots back to beat Sean O'Hair and win his 66th career tournament. Just getting tuned up for the masters, which is in 2 weeks.
Tiger is unreal, and everyone should enjoy the display he has put on over his career!

I'm Baackk!

Ok, so I have been mad busy lately, and decided to take a brief hiatus from the wonderful world of "blogging!"

I really did not think that any of YOU were keeping up with it, but I actually had a handful of people ask when the next update would be....

Ashley bet me that I couldn't have the bathroom in the basement done before softball season, which started last Saturday! I have never really been the typical "handyman," but I did manage to finish that project just in time for softball, which will consist of 2-3 weekends a month, until October (I know what you are thinking....I am thankful Ash is so understanding about that)

Many other things have been going on in the last month....I turned 27 on the 4th, we are in the process of re-financing, and many other home improvement projects, but I plan to keep you posted on a daily basis....

Stay Tuned!
